Prota recently participated in the city of Yorba Linda’s 11th Annual Celebration of the Arts! It was a beautiful sunny Sunday and we had a great time checking out the wonderful works by artists around town, and also enjoyed performances by other groups like the Ron Kobayashi Trio and the Beach City Big Band. We had a fun crowd on hand that actively engaged in our audience participation portion. Good job, people of Yorba Linda! We hope you enjoyed the performance as much as we did!

We debuted a brand-new rendition of Jason’s composition, “Yonsei,” at the 2009 North American Taiko Conference! This Yonsei “Vol. 2″ incorporates our contemporary taiko beats and movements with some rockin’ riffs by Minoru on the electric guitar. We’re excited about stepping into this new territory of music… we still have so much to learn and explore! Check out the videos of our performance below!

North American Taiko Conference 2009: “Taiko Ten”
Thanks for all of the support, fellow taiko-lovers!
Our hearts and prayers go out to all those affected by the recent fires all over Southern California…
This one was very close to home, nearly engulfing the homes of some of our members, and unfortunately, destroying the homes of many of our friends… It’s hard to believe how quickly something so dear to us can disappear in a matter of moments.
Please, if you can, look into supporting local fire victims by offering your time to volunteer, or through donations to disaster relief and good will organizations.
- Governor’s Office of Emergency Services
Individuals wanting to donate items or volunteer to help with local disaster response efforts should contact the Red Cross or go to the governor’s CaliforniaVolunteers website.

Cash contributions can be made here or by calling (800) SALARMY - Los Angeles Firemen’s Relief Association

Please be safe out there.
